
KEVIN MIDDLETON is a director/cinematographer from Western Massachusetts. He currently works as a senior video producer at the Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard.
While earning his BA in Film Production at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Kevin spent a semester abroad at the prestigious Film & TV Academy of the Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU). He was invited by his directing professor to spend the summer interning for her Prague-based production company Cinema Belongs To Us, where he assisted on the production of her feature film Absence Blizkosti (2017). During this time, he also worked as a videographer for The Prague Visitor magazine, generating over 50,000 views for the company's social media pages.
Upon graduating, Kevin was hired by the commercial production company Chris Teebo Films, where he worked on set for more than two dozen commercial projects. His roles included b-cam operator, assistant grip/gaffer, BTS photographer, along with general set PA. He also acted as an in-house assistant editor, working on nearly two dozen projects for clients using the Adobe Creative Suite. Around this time, he filmed a short demonstration for eBiologics, which helped the company secure a $30,000 award from the University of Massachusetts Amherst for their 2018 Innovation Challenge.
Kevin went on to earn his MFA in Film & Television Production at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. He worked as a producer and assistant director on the USC Advanced Project Mr. Thisforthat (2019), which was acquired by Stars Collective for a feature adaptation. His comedy-adventure screenplay Black Friday garnered industry attention, and led to multiple pitches at production studios.
Currently, Kevin works as a senior video producer at the Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard. He produces short-form videos on groundbreaking scientific research.
